Boxing Day 1 Review: No upsets in the ring

Middleweight division:
Matvey Korobov, the gold medalist at the 2005 and 2007 World Championships, beat Sweden's Naim Terbunja 18-6.
Kazakhstan's Bakhtiyar Artayev, who won gold in the welterweight division at Athens 2004 and bronze in the middleweight division at the 2007 World Championships, pocketed an 8-2 victory over Morocco's Said Rachidi.
Ukrainian Sergiy Derevyanchenko, the other bronze winner at the 2007 World Championships, defeated China's Wang Jianzheng 15-6.
The 2005 and 2008 Pan-American Champion, Cuba's Emilio Correa Bayeux defeated Australia's Jarrod Fletcher 17-4.
The other winners include:Carlos Gongora of Ecuador, Georgios Gazis of Greece, Angkarn Chomphupoung of Thailand, Vijender Kumar of India, Elshod Rasullov of Uzbekistan, Andranik Hakobyan of Armenia, James Degale of Great Britain and Shawn Estrada of the United States.
Light-Heavyweight Division:
The silver medalist at the 2007 World Championships, Russian Artur Beterbiev beat the unknown Kennedy Katende of Sweden 15-3.
Bronze medalist at the 2007 World Championships, Yerkebuian Shynaliyev of Kazakhstan, secured his place in the Round of 16 by overrunning the other bronze medalist of that tournament Lithuania's Daugirdas Semiotas 11-3.
The other boxers advancing to the next round include: Washington Silva of Brazil, Bastie Samir of Ghana, Kenny Egan of Ireland, Bahram Muzaffer of Turkey, Zhang Xiaoping of China, Ramadan Yasser of Egypt, Abdelhafid Benchabla of Algeria, Marijo Sivolija-Jelica of Croatia, Kurbanov Dzhakhon of Tajikistan and Carlos Negron Colon of Puerto Rico.
