(BEIJING, September 2) -- BOCOG held its 99th Executive Committee meeting on the morning of September 2, 2008.
The meeting heard reports on Beijing Paralympics preparations, work emphasis during the Games, as well as events organization for the Paralympics. Also discussed were the rehearsal for the Paralympics Opening Ceremony and the TV broadcast of the Games.

The meeting was chaired by Liu Qi, president of BOCOG and a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. Present at the meeting were Deng Pufang, executive president of BOCOG and vice-chairman of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and Guo Jinlong, executive president of BOCOG and Beijing Mayor.
Liu pointed out that the Paralympic Games will increase social awareness of supporting and helping the disabled, and promote the achievements of disabled persons. Liu stressed the need to attach importance to the Paralympic Games and to improve the level of individualized service. He suggested volunteer service training should be strengthened in order to make the disabled athletes, officials and spectators feel the warmth and personal assistance of the volunteers.
