Slovakia's Veronika Vadovicova won the first gold medal of the Beijing Paralympics, in the Women's 10 meter Air Rifle Standing SH1, on Sunday, September 7.
Germany's Manuela Schmermund scored 490.2 points for the silver medal with the bronze going to Nilda Gomez Lopez of Puerto Rico who scored 489.2.
